Welcome to Asra.

Asra Welfare and Development foundation (AWDF) is non-profit organization (NGO) established under the Societies Registration 1980. The Societies Registration Act, 1860 is a legislation in Pakistan which allows the registration of entities generally involved in the benefit of society – education, health, employment etc. Asra is a Hindko language word which means having support of someone. Asra is a newly established local organization (Abbottabad) working extensively in both development and humanitarian sectors since March, 2018. Led by a Board of Governors, comprising professionals with diverse educational backgrounds, Asra is governed through set of policies that ensure transparency, accountability and effectiveness within its systems and operations.

Asra carries its operations and program independently through a community based approach. The focus of Asra is Widows, orphans, um employed and needy people in Abbottabad and surroundings (rural areas). Asra is working to set programs all across Pakistan in both urban and rural areas of the country
